Q.  Does Abbeville County have full time Emergency Medical Service (EMS or Ambulance) coverage throughout the county?

A. Yes.  There are three full time certified EMS crews and one Quick Response Vehicle (QRV), fully licensed at the Advanced Life Support level, on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  The EMS stations are located in Abbeville, Calhoun Falls, Due West and our QRV is on Highway 252 across from the Broadmouth-Turkey Creek Fire Station, near Honea Path.

 

Q.  Does Abbeville County offer an EMS or Ambulance transport service for non-emergency transports

Q. When I call 911 for help, why am I asked a lot of questions? 

A. This is for the responder’s safety as well as for the caller and others that are onscene.  We have to get as much information as possible in order to prepare the responders, while they are enroute, so they will know what is occurring onscene when they arrive.
